Market Opportunities : Week 13-03-2023 - 17-03-2023

USDIDX: United States Consumer Price Index (CPI) report on March 14 is the key economic event of March 13-17 week. Investors will be watching closely to see whether the consumer inflation continued to accelerate or not. In case the inflation rises from the previous reading of 0.5% over month this may give some reason for the Federal Reserve to consider continuing rate hikes for longer than is widely expected now - USDISD will get a bullish boost.

EURUSD: European Central Bank interest rate decision is a major economic event in the March 13-17 week. European Central Bank will hold its conference on March 16. ECB has said it plans to raise rates to bring inflation back to its target rate of just above 2% and analysts are not sure whether to expect a 50 basis point rate hike at March meeting. In case the ECB actually raises interest rates by 25 basis points instead of 50 basis points - the EURUSD will get a bearish impulse.
